Linksys RE1000 Review

Pros: The Linksys RE1000 plugs into the wall
Cons: There is only one Ethernet port on the unit
Verdict: If you need to discreetly improve your home or office's wireless network, the RE1000's small size is a good solution, but the size sacrifices some other perks.

Linksys RE1000 review: Wi-Fi extender that's simple to set up

4.0
Pros: Reasonably priced, Very easy to use
Cons: Usefulness may depend upon setup
Verdict: Sturdy build is good thing as you may have to place your range extender in a prominent place in a room or corridor and the lack of external antennae and blinking lights all help it blend into the background.

Pros: Easy Setup, Wall-socket, desktop placement options
Cons: Only supports 2.4GHz bands
Verdict: While it's easy to say that the Cisco Linksys RE1000 does it job and does it well, the main charm of it is its superb ease of setup and two different ways of usage. It's not without a few hitches, but it'll certainly let you reach further than usual.

Cisco Linksys Wireless-N Range/Extender Bridge (RE1000)

4.0
Cons: Bulky design plugged into outlet. Slow performance at distance greater than 100 feet from router.
Verdict: Cisco Linksys' Wireless-N Range/Extender Bridge (RE1000) is one of the best wireless extenders we've tested to date. Still, like many extenders we've tested, it's going to be pretty useless for distances exceeding 150 feet from a wireless router.

Goondu review: Linksys RE1000 Wireless-N Range Extender

Verdict: If you subscribe to StarHub's fibre broadband service and are stuck with the Huawei HG256s gateway that seems to be plagued by poor wireless coverage , a range extender might help.

Linksys RE1000 review

3.5
Verdict: Wi-Fi's great convenience is not having to lay metres of cable to set up a network. However, it only reaches so far before the signal falls off. One way to remedy that is to deploy a network extender such as the RE1000 from Linksys to carry the signal further and maintain its strength.

Review: Linksys RE1000 Wireless-N Range Extender

Verdict: If you've got the latest and greatest dual-band wireless-N router and your network signal still isn't powerful enough for you, there is an easy solution for you to get WiFi signal in to those hard-to-reach areas.Dead zones have nowhere to hide now which is great but you might be thinking its too...

Verdict: People with crappy wireless coverage are suckers for products that promise to fix what ails them. "High power" routers are one cure and wireless repeaters, like the Cisco Linksys RE1000 that I'm looking at today are another. Repeaters can help get some sort of wireless signal into dead spots.

"Linksys extends my range!"

5.0
Pros: Did the job for us
Cons: May slow your network speed down
Verdict: Linksys RE1000 Wi-Fi Range Extender ~~~~~~ WHY DO YOU NEED A WI-FI RANGE EXTENDER? ~~~~~ When we moved into our new house we had Virgin media installed for TV, phone and Broadband which was supposedly so much faster than our previous BT in the village that everyone was complaining about.

Buy something else.

1.0
Pros: Has a wireless bridge built-in
Cons: To bad that wireless bridge isn't very fast, not to mention it crashes some Shaw networks if running for 2-3 days straight. I wasted 30$ (Got mine for 40$) on this thing
Verdict: Just go buy a different WiFi extender

Verdict: Linksys RE1000 Wireless-N Range Extender/Bridge by Linksys is a wonderful product. It is easy to setup and the range is good. I placed mine so I will have better service in my downstairs area and outside. I can now be outside mowing my grass or doing yard work, that is about 1.5 acres.

Pros: Attractive Design, Compact Design, Easy Install, Efficient Use of Space, Long Range
Verdict: I Purchased this Linksys RE1000 Wireless-N Range Extender/Wi-Fi® to Extend the Range of My Motorola U-Verse's Wi-Fi signal indoors. I was so Impressed that I thought I would give it a try in an outdoor environment. The First thing I did was a Site Survey to see where I could place the device.

AMAZING!!!!

5.0
Pros: value, Features, Easy to Use, Design, Performance, works perfectly, easy to install, exactly as described
Cons: none
Verdict: I rarely write product reviews, but had to do it for this product to help others. The other two reviews got me to choose this over another cheaper product. LOVE IT!!!! I could not be happier! I was hesitant to spend $60, but well worth EVERY penny! (And it was a lot more expensive at other stores).

Interferes with DHCP

Great!!!! Great!!!!

4.0
Pros: Easy To Set Up
Cons: No Power Onoff Button
Verdict: With CD, the installation is very easy. The repeater need to be near setup computer and wireless router. Once the setup is done, you can locate the repeater far away from the router. That's all you need for setting up (don't even connect any wire to router or computer).

Best Gadget

5.0
Verdict: Just bought this wifi gadget, and works pretty awesome in my place. All I did was configure my tv box in the option of setting " Portable Hot Spot Activation " type my Telus wifi WEP password and in seconds, it gives me a full blast wifi signal where my tv box was located.

Helps some

4.5
Verdict: Item as described, and relatively easy set up. Had to do it a second time, as my router didn't seem to find it the first time. (Probably user error.) Once it is synced to the router you can easily move it anywhere. Seems to help with my range problem some, but not as much as I had hoped.

This did the trick!

5.0
Pros: Easy to Install, Easy to Use
Verdict: We have a 3000 sq ft home with a first floor office on one far end of the home where our cable modem/router is housed. Unfortunately, our loft is on the total opposite end of the home on the second story and we had a very weak WiFi signal there.

Slowed connection down

3.0
Pros: price and ease of use
Cons: slowed connection speed
Verdict: The unit did what it says. It did increase the signal strength. However, once introduces to the network it caused wireless throughput overall to decrease. Before adding to network avg throughput was 14000 kbps, after range extender it was around 5200 kbps.

" Too unstable to use "

1.0
Verdict: I returned this product after days of trying to keep it up and running. I ensured that setting matched the router, and would get a good strong signal, only to wake up the next day and nothing was working. I used the CD method, WPS method, direct ethernet method.

Easy

5.0
Verdict: Purchased this for my parents who were having an issue weak signal strength on their second floor. Software clearly states on the very first screen what the requirements are to configure the device. However, be aware that the configuration software for this device is not Windows 8 compatible.

Kind of a let down

2.0
Pros: Looks very good, doesn't take up a lot of space, occasionally extends range
Cons: I'm a little disappointed by the product overall. First, the CD flat out didn't work. "Searching for Extender > Connecting to Extender > Setup failed." Every time. I had to plug this into the wall, connect to it directly via my connections manager, and set it up by logging into 192.168.1.1, clicking...
Verdict: As of right now, I'm bouncing back and forth between 2 to 3 bars. I'm writing this review with 3. Occasionally I can get 4 (out of 5), but that's rare. Before installing the range extender I was at a constant 2 bars. I live in a 2500 square foot brick house.

Easy, Flexible,Simple and Perfect

4.0
Verdict: Most wireless extenders on the market require you to plug directly into your wireless router and broadcast an additional SSID. The Linksys RE1000 is a little different however as this one does not require you to plug directly into the router to extend the signal.

Very deceiving product

1.0
Pros: Relatively easy setup
Cons: No value. Actually makes coverage worse
Verdict: Simply does not work, similar to other reviews. Owned it for about 6 months. It connects, so you think it is improving network coverage. However, we have had MORE problems. Sitting in the room with unit plugged in, signal strength will vacillate between 75% to 20%...

LINKSYS RE1000-EU Wireless-N Range Extender/Bridge

4.0
Pros: Ease of set up
Cons: Cost
Verdict: This range extender was easy to set up following the instructions. Crucial, I suspect to some people's problems in setting it up is that you must run the set up disc in a PC which is connected to your network wirelessly.
